Denis Wiart, P.Eng. President / General Manager

Denis has been a principal of ECO-Technica Inc. since 2001 and is the acting General Manager.  He is a strong communicator and leader with eighteen years experience in mechanical engineering, quality assurance and project management.  Denis’ area specialities include utility, chemical, water and power related projects as well as pressure equipment and system design.  He is a dedicated father and enjoys various activities including skiing, camping, swimming, golfing, curling, and adventure riding.  Denis is a member of the Sherwood Park Rotary Club where he is a co-chair for international projects.


 Ian Park, P.Eng., Vice President, Manager, Civil / Structural Engineering

Ian joined ECO-Technica Inc. in 2004 to develop the civil / structural engineering group, becoming a principal of the company in 2005.  Ian has 24 years of hands-on experience in engineering design, construction engineering, plant engineering, engineering management, and project management.  His diverse experience ranges across many industries, which provide a well-founded ability to complete many conventional and unusual projects.  Ian’s special interests include safety systems, specialty equipment, finite element and dynamic analysis.  Away from work, Ian enjoys motorized and non-motorized outdoor recreation with his family and friends, including hiking, mountain biking, camping, skiing, ATV’s, and snowmobiling.


Ken Blake, CMA, CFP, Chief Financial Officer

Ken is a Certified Management Accountant with more than 15 years of financial and administration management experience. In his role as CFO, Ken oversees all finance and accounting aspects of the company, and leads the corporate administration team. Prior to joining ECO-Technica in 2008, Ken held senior management positions at KPMG and a publicly-traded oilfield services company.

Ken supplements his strong technical background and extensive experience in owner-managed business environments with knowledge in the areas of securities, corporate finance, and financial planning. As part of his continuous pursuit of professional development, Ken has completed the Canadian Securities Course and obtained a designation as a Certified Financial Planner. He is currently completing the course requirements for a Master of Financial Management Degree (University of Alberta).

When he’s not at work, Ken enjoys baseball, curling, hockey, and spending time with his wife and daughter.


David Kwok, P. Eng, M. Eng., Manager of Mechanical Engineering

David is a Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years experience in design, project management and plant maintenance. He has two master degrees – Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (2003) and Master of Engineering in Engineering Management (2010).  David’s experience includes project management, bid evaluations, shutdown work, piping analysis, finite element analysis, vessel design, equipment specification development, and equipment selection. He has experience working with P&IDs, material takeoffs, pipe and valve specifications, ABSA requirements and various ASME Codes.  David is registered as a Design Engineer pursuant to the requirements of CSA Standard B620.


Shaun Jones, P.Eng., Manager of Electrical Engineering
/ Instrumentation & Controls

Shaun is an Electrical Engineer and has been with ECO-Technica Inc. since 2006.  He has a broad range of experience in across many industries, and has worked in several capacities from design engineer to plant engineer, and now manages the Electrical and I&C groups at ECO-Technica Inc.  Shaun’s experiences include control system upgrades, DCS and HMI programming, PLC programming, low voltage power distribution, motor controls, and electric heat tracing.  Away from the office, Shaun balances his time between his family in several sports teams and outdoor activities.


Richard Holley, CET., PMP, Senior Project Manager

Richard is a Senior Project Manager and has been with ECO-Technica Inc. since 2007.  His project experience of over 20 years started with an estimating/project coordination role for a General Contractor, then progressed to project management roles with Engineering and Owner’s organizations.  At ECO-Technica Inc., he manages projects, mentors fellow project managers/coordinators and guides in-house project management processes.   Away from work; Richard, a husband and father of three children enjoys family vacations, watersports/motorsports and numerous hobbies and interests.
